Meet the Team

Dr. Wood received her DVM degree in 1995 from the University of Madison-Wisconsin.

Dr. Schaefer is a Minnesota native that joined the Peace of Mind Veterinary Care family in July 2016. She graduated from the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2016.

Dr. Torvik returned home to Minnesota after graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Saint Kitts and Nevis and spending a year in Southern Illinois.

Julie is an valuable facilities manager and veterinary assistant who loves animals. She grew up on a horse ranch in Arizona, moving to Minnesota in 1999.

Kira has been passionate about animal care her entire life. She has a BA in Biology, was a ZooKeeper in Phoenix for 5 years, and attended Argosy University for Veterinary Technology.

Lee is a Certified Veterinary Technician that started with our team in April 2019. After his beloved dog, Kiray, got sick, it was then that he wanted to help every kind of animal live a more fulfilling life.

Allie began her veterinary career in 2017 as a receptionist, quickly advancing to a veterinary assistant role.

With over seven years of experience in veterinary care, Jayden has been a valued member of our team for the past four years, joining us on and off with a few breaks in between to focus on raising her twin daughters.

Shannon started helping out behind the scenes of Peace of Mind in early 2016. She has since become a full time receptionist and vet assistant who loves greeting both human and animal guests.

Jan brings a wealth of experience and a deep love for animals to our team. She spent 10 years working as a certified veterinary technician before stepping away from the field for several years.

Judy has been a receptionist at Peace of Mind since August of 2017. Since joining this team, she has loved meeting all of the clients and their pets and has enjoyed being able to help our clients as well as being available to any staff member and just helping wherever she can. She bel

Kathy joined Peace of Mind Veterinary Care team in 2023 after spending 17 years at home with her children. She lives on a small hobby farm with her fiance and their 5 combined children, horses, ducks and two dogs. She enjoys horse back riding and gardening in her free time.

Kjersten started working at Peace of Mind as a veterinary assistant in July 2024. She is a full time veterinary student at the University of MN, where she continues to grow in her love and knowledge of veterinary medicine. Kjersten is especially interested in exotic medicine.
