Wellness and Preventative Medicine

Lady with her dog
Peace of Mind Veterinary Care provides wellness exams and will discuss vaccines that are tailored to fit your pet’s lifestyle. We are committed to providing our clients with the ample time they need to discuss their concerns-from a new diagnosis, prognosis, medications and treatment plans. We recommend preventative blood work to ensure your pet is as healthy on the inside as they appear to be on the outside. Our staff is educated on prescription diets your pet may require. We are also happy to discuss currently available flea, tick and heartworm preventative.

We are a very small boutique hotel that is a quiet, safe, caring environment that your pet will feel comfortable and relaxed in during their stay. We have several indoor lounges to relax in, as well as a fenced in outdoor play/exercise area.

Please inquire for any special needs your pet may have as we are capable of caring for most of our guest requests.

Rates are $37.00 per night for suites and the penthouse, which is a 10x16 foot suite featuring leather furniture and much more is only $55.00 per night.

Your critter will be cared for as if they were our own pets! You will also have the added reassurance that a veterinarian is only steps away. Stop by for a tour and you will know this is the place for your pet's getaway!

Diagnosis and Treatment

Lady with her dog
Peace of Mind Veterinary Care is fully equipped to make an accurate and timely diagnosis on your pet. We offer in house digital skeletal radiographs with board certified radiologist review when needed. We also offer an in house laboratory where we can run complete blood counts, chemistry panels, electrolyte panels and heartworm/tick titer testing. For laboratory services requiring more specialized testing, our relationship with IDEXX laboratories allows us a one day turn-around on most test results. Our staff is fully trained to perform in house diagnostics such as ear smears, fecal exams, needle cytology, ear smears and much more.

Dentistry

Does your pet have a bad odor coming from their mouth? This could be one of the first indications of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is the most common disease of dogs and cats. Most pets do not show any signs of discomfort in their mouths, unless the dental disease is severe. You wouldn't normally think that your pet's dental care is important. They're just teeth right? Actually, periodontal disease can lead to diseases including liver, kidney and heart disease or can aggravate a pre-existing condition. Daily brushing, dental chews and toys, and preventative professional cleanings can keep your pet's teeth healthy for much longer!

We now have the capability of taking full mouth intraoral digital dental radiographs during the dental procedure. This shows us a picture of what lies below the gum line and also disease processes such as: bone loss, tooth abscess, oral masses, tooth resorption, just to name a few! These radiographs will also show us the start of the disease process and we can guide you in the care needed to prevent further infection of the mouth.

Our trained technicians perform all of our dental prophylaxis, taking care to perform thorough oral exams, probing and charting of all the teeth, full cleaning and polishing, and taking full mouth digital dental radiographs. We have upgraded our dentistry equipment including:

  • cleaning/polishing/extraction equipment
  • dental radiographs
  • upgraded monitoring equipment
  • special dentistry suite in our treatment area.

Please come in for a free oral exam by one of our highly trained technicians today!
